Avowed is Obsidian Entertainment's first-person fantasy RPG set in the world of Eora. As Senior Area Designer, I owned and directed the development of major content regions, bringing the Living Lands to life through immersive environments and narrative-rich quest design.

My Role
Owned and directed end-to-end development of major content regions from white-box to final polish. Coordinated with cross-functional teams including art, audio, lighting, and narrative to create cohesive, immersive environments that support both exploration and storytelling.
Designed and implemented critical-path quests from initial pitch to final scripting, ensuring tight integration with narrative and game logic. Each quest was crafted to offer meaningful choices with real consequences that rippled through the game world.
Sole designer responsible for all scripting and event logic on owned content, using proprietary tools and Unreal 5 Blueprint. Enabled complex quest functionality and dynamic world events that responded to player actions and choices.
Worked extensively with narrative to drive cost-effective storytelling that deeply integrated choice and consequence. Created seamless connections between dialogue, environmental storytelling, and gameplay mechanics.
